The Moon Deck is a stunning oracle set written by yoga teacher, reiki practitioner, and healing powerhouse Aarona Ganesan and illustrated by the incredibly inspiring Andi Keh, also a yoga teacher, beautiful soul, and burst of light. The energy these two bring is uplifting, encouraging and full of so much love. I was thrilled to sit down with them and learn more about the creation of The Moon Deck. As their Indiegogo campaign comes to an end and the magic of production begins I highly recommend that you purchase the original version which will surely become a collector’s edition. This healing deck will transform your rituals, encourage a daily practice of self-care and remind you of the power that lies within all of us. Get yours here.
For many years, Aarona dreamed of creating a deck of her own as she collected and bought decks to use personally and in her classes. In 2010, she wrote in a journal entry she recently discovered naming Andi as a potential illustrator. As we know, the Universe works in incredible ways, and divine timing and partnership brought these two magnificent souls together. The second year, Ashley Bruni joined the team to spread the love of this transformational deck.
Almost three years in the making, meticulously gathering personal tweets, searching for fabrics, endless browsing on Pinterest, walking through ABC Home, exploring new textures and colors, vision board creating and revising until the first set felt perfect. The Moon Deck is now ready to be delivered to your home, rituals, moon circles, gatherings and in every way that inspires you. To bring women and the sisterhood together as one to explore the inspiring lessons and affirmations that are held in this magical deck.
I was fascinated when Aarona shared with me that every single card has a moon phase illustrated on it. Both hidden and apparent they chose to honor these cycles and the phases of womanhood. To bring in the femininity of the moon and the cyclical nature within ourselves. The way in which the moon waxes and wanes and how as women we feel this. We are intuitive and connected, tapping into the wisdom that is in those cycles. It was such a pure and thoughtful statement that made me feel even more energized as I held the cards.
After having the opportunity to use and experience The Moon Deck I can tell you that the bond I formed with the ritual of starting my day with a reading was instant. The best part is that it can be used however you feel inspired and is all about intuitively finding your rhythm. It can be treated as a daily meditation/affirmation, as a tarot deck to give yourself or a friend a reading or even in moon and women circles. Each card has a page in the book that shares a ritual and affirmation and a few different ways they recommend using the set. It is an interactive tool, and the power lies in being open to the journey of self-discovery.
Each set comes with 44 illustrated cards packed full of love and potent mantras, a guidebook with insights, lessons and rituals and a handcrafted wooden box to store your tools. The cards are printed locally at Rolling Press in Gowanus, Brooklyn using wind/solar power, recycled paper, and soy-based ink. It is then packaged in a custom, hand-carved wooden box. To hold this beautiful creation in your hands is really special and an opportunity you don’t want to miss!
There are four days left to support this campaign and bring The Moon Deck into your life and the lives of your loved ones!
