Pics from Mexico & Getting Back Into a Routine

I got back from Mexico Thursday and although it took me a few days; I am finally getting back into the groove of routine. I enjoyed a fantastic week filled with amazing food, lots of relaxation and memories that left me feeling recharged and inspired.

This was the first vacation in as long as I can remember that I truly let myself relax. I know I am not alone when it comes to setting unrealistic expectations for ourselves when we go away. Sometimes it is scary to step out of routine when we feel things are going smoothly but what is life if we don’t create new experiences. To be perfectly honest, in the past I would put pressure on myself to eat a certain way, work-out, etc. and inevitably slip up and feel bad about it. Not this trip, I fully let myself be. I ate and drank whatever I felt like, took naps in the middle of the day and spent countless hours going between the pool and the ocean. Guess what, the world didn’t end! I have to admit, it was exactly what I needed. This was a huge lesson for me in learning to relax a bit. I blame it on my Type A personality but constantly striving for perfection can be exhausting. I know a lot of you can relate! Personally, I don’t think there is anything wrong with being goal-oriented, but there is a time and place for this mindset.

Whether you are going away on vacation, enjoying a staycation or spending an afternoon doing something you love (with people you love) I challenge you just to let yourself be. It could be exactly what you need to step out of your own way.

Here are a few snaps from my week in Cancun taken with my iPhone. My next post will be recipes from the CSA Week #3. I hope everyone has an enjoyable day, it feels good to be back!
