Earth Day — Birth Day • Celebrating Another Trip Around the Sun

Birthday Post - 28.JPG

I have been writing an annual birthday post for a few years now, so I am officially calling it official. It has become one of my favorite posts to write as it always feels really good to reflect on another trip around the sun and all that shifted, melted away, and transformed in the past year. I am coming to see how special it is to get older. Each year I continue to feel more confident in myself and my worth and less affected by the opinions of others. The more time I spend on this planet, the more I am able to see how fiercely capable and strong I am. I can accept and love myself from a place of internal energy versus feeling like I need to hide or make myself small. What I am trying to say is, getting older feels REALLY good.

It is incredible to reflect on how much has changed in a year. Last year, Dan and I spent my birthday in LA, working and celebrating what was the start of an exciting chapter. One month later, I was in the hospital, diagnosed with shingles, specifically Ramsay Hunt Syndrome, and our entire world turned upside down. So much has changed this past year, and while we experienced really difficult times (I wrote a post all about it here), I can see now that it was the Universe making space for all that is to come.

Here is what I am currently up to . . .

The Dreamerie Sessions—I am having the best time connecting with so many of you through these 1:1 sessions. From discussing personal style and dressing more consciously, to business guidance, meditation, and everything in between, I feel so grateful to be part of the support team for so many of you. I also want to let you all know that I have been taking your feedback into consideration and am working on laying out the different ways we can work together in a way that is even easier to consume—stay tuned!

UNCOIL Training—If you have been here before, you’ll know how my teacher and mentor, Taylor Eyewalker, has completely changed my life. Two weeks ago, we officially kicked off her 11-month UNCOIL Training program, which I am assisting in. It has taken many years to be in a place of alignment with the work I am doing, so being part of this training with such an incredible group of women is lighting me up every day.

Studying—I have been making sure to consciously block off 1–2 hours a day for continued study, and it feels incredible. I am forever a student and love learning. Right now I am diving deeper into astrology, human design, and Ayurveda. I am taking courses throughout the next year and can’t wait to tie everything I am learning into The Dreamerie Sessions.

Mostly plant-based—Over the past few months I have been eating a mostly plant-based diet but am still working to find my balance. I won’t ever call myself vegan again, but lately I have been going back to my roots and focusing on my fruit and veggie consumption while still enjoying a small amount of high-quality protein when my body needs it. I can recognize now that I was not a healthy vegan all those years I practiced the diet, having lived mostly on beans/grains/cereals, etc. Nowadays I am much more knowledgeable; since my body is cravings all the fruits and plants, I am listening.

Self-care on a budget—I am still living with family on Long Island and have not had access to all of the typical healing modalities I would have utilized while living in Brooklyn. This has actually been a wonderful learning lesson as my self-care is as good as ever and I am doing it on a budget. My routine currently includes lots of Epsom salt baths, dry brushing, Abhyanga (self-massage), homemade face masks, meditation, journaling, tea, reading, and a lot of quiet/reflection time.

Continued healing—I recently shared that last year I was diagnosed with Ramsay Hunt Syndrome and lost full mobility on the right side of my face. You can find the full post here. Next month marks one year since it happened. While I do not have full mobility yet, I am continuing to go to physical therapy and do facial massage daily, keeping my faith, trusting the Universe, and taking care of myself in every way I can. I have learned a lot about myself and what I am capable of withstanding this past year and will continue to stay open on this journey.

Exciting news COMING SOON . . . Dan and I are preparing to enter into an exciting new chapter. The details aren’t finalized so I don’t want to share just yet, but they will be in the next few weeks so stay tuned. I am so excited for what the future holds!

It was just two months ago I launched The Dreamerie, and it has been an incredible experience to see this dream realized. Thank you for being here and supporting me every step of the way. I am infinitely grateful to this incredible community and this space where I can show up fully as myself and share from my heart.

Love,
Hilary
