Kjaer Weis Review
I am jumping with excitement to share my first natural beauty review on NYC-based brand, Kjaer Weis. (To find out more on why I am doing this check out last weeks post here). The company was founded by Kirsten Kjaer Weis, a makeup artist with more than 20 years of experience. She created the brand to fulfill a need in the market for a natural and organic, high-quality makeup. Years of research and development went into creating Kjaer Weis products. One of my favorite aspects of this company is the attention to detail. From the ingredients, to the performance and packaging it is clear that no aspect of the brand has been compromised.
All products are either Certified Organic or Certified Natural and are never tested on animals. They are produced in Italy and contain NO artificial ingredients. There is no guessing with Kjaer Weis, you can trust that you are using a brand that cares about you and your skin.
I started with a bare face except for a bit of concealer under my eyes and all pictures were shot in front of a window for natural lighting. The first product I sampled was the cream blush in “lovely”. I applied with my finger to the apple of my cheek. The photo on the left is with one application and on the right is after two applications. This color works great on all skin tones from fair to dark and gives a natural flushed look. A few of the organic, moisturizing and healing ingredients are castor seed oil, beeswax, jojoba seed oil, rosa rubiginosa seed oil and gardenia florida fruit extract (see my list below for the benefits of these ingredients).
My thoughts: Upon first use I fell in love with this product. The application is easy with your fingers and I immediately felt the moisturizing properties. I applied twice to get the flushed look I was going for and it stayed all day. It can also be applied with a large brush (use artificial hairs) and gently swept over the cheek. A little of this product goes a long way. I will continue to use this blush and look forward to seeing how long the compact lasts.

The next product I applied was the new highlighter in “radiance”. It works on every skin tone and gives you an immediate sun-kissed glow. The above picture is after two applications using my finger tips. It contains organic ingredients such as sweet almond seed oil, jojoba seed oil, rosa rubiginosa oil, beeswax and carnauba wax (see my list below for the benefits of these ingredients). The goal was to create an illusion of a glow coming from the inside out and Kjaer Weis achieved that.
My thoughts: This highlighter was my absolute favorite of all the samples I tried. It is a cream formula with a smooth and silky texture that can only be described as heaven on your face. After the first application I was blown away by the quality and performance of this product. A little bit goes a long way to achieve a radiant glow. It can be used to enhance your cheekbones, nose, brow line or even as eyeshadow. I have continued to use this product every day and have made it part of my daily makeup routine both morning and night.

The lip tint I sampled was aptly named “sensuous plum”. I applied directly with my finger although you can use a brush. I was prepared for a thick dark color and instead got a light shade of plum with a moisturizing feel and a subtle sheen. The above photo was after three applications. It contains organics ingredients like beeswax, jojoba seed oil, rosa rubiginosa seed oil and gardenia florida fruit extract (see my list below for the benefits of these ingredients).
My thoughts: This lip tint is a great way to wear color during the day vs. going for a solid lipstick. I was pleasantly surprised by the sheerness of the color making it easy to build upon and go as light or dark as you want. My lips felt moisturized all day and I am really looking forward to trying the other colors offered by Kjaer Weis.
Lip Tint Pricing: Compact: $49 Refill: $29
Last but not least is the Kjaer Weis mascara in black. The specially designed wand glides on easy for natural and lengthened lashes. It delivers great definition and adds volume to lashes as well. The mascara contain castor seed oil and lavender flower water (see my list below for the benefits of these ingredients).
My thoughts: I have extremely sensitive eyes and wear contacts so when it comes to mascara I am always a bit weary to try new ones. This might be a bit dramatic but the wrong mascara can completely ruin my day. I am talking red, itchy eyes and serious irritation. I used this mascara for a week and did not have any issues. I found that it went on easy and while it opened my eyes the difference was not overly dramatic but instead more natural. I prefer this from my mascara and have continued to use this product in my daily routine.
Mascara Pricing: Compact: $38 Refill: $28
Final thoughts: I loved the experience of using Kjaer Weis products from the packaging to the actual application. You get what you pay for and while the products are not inexpensive they can be refilled at a lower cost and a little bit goes a long way. To use these products is an experience and I am even more excited to be on this natural beauty journey after sampling such a high quality organic brand.
